Varga | Martine Slip-On Loafers

By three in the afternoon, your feet shouldn't be begging you to sit down!

Picture it: you slip them on in the morning and then forget about them. Shopping, sidewalks, the long walk back to the car, with no pinching toes, no heel blisters, and no urge to take them off before you need to. Stop imagining it. These soft loafers were made for exactly that.

• Room exactly where it's needed
The front is cut wide, across the toes and the vamp. A stronger foot, or one that swells a little by the end of the day, always has room here. No break-in is needed, since they're soft from the very first wear.
• Slip them on and go
No laces, no buckles, no need to sit on the edge of the bed and fight with fasteners. The elastic collar stretches to let your foot in, then gently holds it in place so nothing slips at the heel.
• Cushioning that lasts all day
A soft textile lining touches your skin instead of a seam, and the padded insole absorbs the hardness of pavement and tile. The soft stitched sole follows the movement of your foot instead of restricting it.
• Elegant, never orthopedic
This is where most comfortable shoes give themselves away. Here you get an embossed floral medallion on the upper and a hand-tied bow. These details catch the eye up close, but from a distance they look simply like a pretty flat shoe.
• Three colors you'll wear everywhere
Burgundy for a touch of warmth, black for absolutely everything, and dark brown to pair with camel, ecru, and denim. Each color is made from a soft material that you can wipe clean with a damp cloth.

The afternoon stops being a test for your feet. Wear them with pants or a skirt, or with jeans on Saturday. Don't be surprised if they become the pair you reach for before all the others, morning after morning.
